August is aboout meeting the elements. This reading meets that work directly, and the deck we are working with uses the classical four elements as its foundation. In this deck the elements are named air, fire, water, and earth. In our Kinship framework, we hold these as wind, sun, water, and earth. The naming shifts. The meeting is the same.
The four cards that came forward carry an unusual elemental density. Three of the four are explicitly elemental in name. Two are wind cards (the Ace and the Seven of Air), one is the Council of All Beings which invokes all four elements gathering together, and the fourth is the Moon. In a deck with dozens of cards, the elements have shown up almost exclusively.
Question 1: Which of the four elements in you is asking to be met more fully right now?
Card: Ace of Air, the Wind Harp (Listen, Awareness, Divine Love)
The answer is wind. The Ace of Air arriving in response to this question is unusually direct. Wind is the element being asked about. This is the Ace , the pure essence of the element in its most concentrated form.
The card's imagery is a wind harp. Strings woven by spiders and filled with stars, played by the wind itself. All the sounds of the world layered together (leaves, birdsong, breeze, storm), meeting to become almost music. The magic of the wind's harp is love. The counsel is specific. Silence comes first. If you are talking, you cannot listen. Do not rush to action. The answer you are seeking is waiting for you to hear it.
This card is naming that meeting the elements begins with wind. And wind is met through listening. The breath in your lungs. The words you have not yet let yourself say. The love song the wind is singing to you, if you go outside and let it reach you.

Card: Council of All Beings (Urgency, Connection, Community, Reverence, Kindness)
This is a Major Arcana card, and major arcana cards usually carry the biggest medicine in a reading. Its content is about the gathering of all beings across the four elements and the four directions.
The imagery is old and beautiful. The world of our ancestors, where grandmothers had wings and brothers were leaves. Aunts had fur, cousins fins, and the earth was our mother. A world where the makers of magic met at the intersection of the elements. All beings called to council. Your body's message, then, extends beyond the body itself. Your body has been trying to tell you that you belong to a larger council. You are part of it. Your presence matters to the gathering.
The counsel names it directly. Pay attention to signs and synchronicities because they reveal the emerging pattern of your destiny. Realms of spirit are open to you, and there are guides and allies who will help. Magic is the power of divine love flowing into you and through you into the world. The future depends on your ability to cultivate that love, with yourself, with Mother Earth, and with all her peoples.
The body has been calling you into deeper relationship. With itself, yes, and also with the wider community of all beings, human and more-than-human, ancestral and elemental.
Question 3: Where is the meeting place of the elements happening in your daily life?
Card: Seven of Air, the Witch's Ladder (Clues, Signs, Insight, Gratitude, Offerings)
The Seven of Air arriving here is another wind card, which makes wind the strongest elemental thread in this reading.
The image is a witch's ladder. Seven feathers, each from a different bird, knotted to a cord, tied to a tree branch, weighted with a hag stone. Each feather is a charm. Each has come as a sign. The ladder gives all of them back to the world, with gratitude for the guidance from a wise and loving universe.
The witch's ladder is itself a meeting place of the elements. The feathers are wind. The stone anchors to earth. The tree holds. The cord ties it all together. Elements meeting in one small object.

Card: The Moon (Mystery, Wildness, Physical Instinct, Liberated Feminine Power)
The Moon arriving as the final card of this reading is significant. The Moon is one of the deepest cards in any tarot deck, and its essence in this version is mystery, wildness, physical instinct, and liberated feminine power.
The card is about the pull of the wild. The moon's ancient light on the ancient longing in us. The pilgrim enters the dark woods where wolves appear. She slips into the deep waters where otters play. She even braves the dragon's lair. Wildness, the card says, is the only path to the moon.
For a question about what to carry forward into autumn, this card names the wild in you. The part that has been quietly asking for more space. The part that knows how to howl. The instinctive, sensual, animal self that modern life often muffles.
The illusory safety of the tower, or the pull of the wild. The card leans toward the wild. Watch the moon, follow its rhythm into the sky, see how it pulls the tides below. Feel that pull within you, rising and subsiding. Feel the moon in your body, in your heart, and in your mind. When you return, you will be changed. Free. Whole. Blessed by the moon.
What you are being invited to carry forward is that wild part of you. The one that has been waking up all summer and now wants to walk with you into the darker months. Wildness is what makes the descent worth taking.
